Dallas Mavericks

The 2011 NBA Champions played their last home game of the 2012 season on Friday night and we had front row sets - albeit in the upper deck. Since they had already clinched a spot in the playoffs the Mavs could afford to allow Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd some well deserved rest and they played only 27 and 22 minutes respectively. A blast from the past was Vince Carter, who contributed 19 points. Back in the day with the Raptors, Vince often averaged over 27 per game. Back then he was a highlight reel unto himself. Age has caught up with "Vinsanity" and now he is a bit player on a Dallas team whose average age must be the oldest in the NBA.

A welcome sight on the Golden State bench was rookie head coach Mark Jackson, a fellow St. John's alumnus. He cut a lonley figure leading a poor Warriors team.

The boys will only have memories of our dinner at Dick's Last Resort before the game, where some saucy hats were constructed by our waiter.
